History of Don Bosco Senior Secondary School
Don Bosco Senior Secondary School was initially known as Don Bosco Centre, Bongaigaon and it was formally inaugurated, blessed and dedicated to the youth of BTAD as a tribute to St. John Bosco on the occasion of the bi-centenary of his birth, on 1st August, 2015. Since then it has been running various vocational skills for the youth of the region. Today, the Centre houses the Senior Secondary School (which was originally known as Don Bosco Junior College) and a vocational training centre. A degree college was started in the year 2019 to cater to the needs of the youth of BTAD and the Northeast. Currently the Degree college has only one stream – Humanities (Arts). The streams of Science and Commerce are expected to be added soon. There is also a hostel for boys run by the Salesian Fathers and another for girls run by the Salesian Sisters (FMA).
